Contact the Klickitat County Commissioners or
Husum/BZ Community Council
BACKGROUND Husum/BZ Rezoning: The
recently proposed rezoning of Husum/BZ
which could bring 800 new residents and
about 300 new homes to the BZ/Husum area.
The Klickitat County Planning Department has
recommended a 'Determination of Non-
Significance' to the proposed changes.

The impact of the planned rezoning needs to
be evaluated with regard to:
- Water supplies
- Waste water disposal
- Wildlife
- Native American Cultural Resources
- Traffic

UPDATE: The 6 September Public Hearing for
the ’Husum/BZ sub-area Plan’ was charged
with energy from the 150 people in the room.
The super majority of those who testified were
opposed to the proposed comprehensive
Plan. Many said the information needed to
know the impacts of the Plan simply did not
exist within the plan. A lot of people feel that
development of any kind could only bring
negative impacts to quality of life in Husum/BZ
for People, Animals, Fish, Water, Air & Plants.

The Commissioners listened to Public
Testimony well past the original ending time of
4:30pm, with the last of the meeting attendees
leaving around 5:45pm.
