Annual Meeting: Sunday, April 15th (3:30 – 5:30 p.m.) at Solstice Wood Fire Cafe
What a Blast! This Past Year:
The White Salmon River is Free Flowing!
Your support has returned a major dividend in 2011: Our favorite river is once again free-flowing, from its headwaters on Mt Adams to its confluence with the Columbia! This is a BIG DEAL! Please come celebrate with us at our Annual Members’ Meeting on Sunday, April 15, 2012!
Like the River we love, though, Friends of the White Salmon River need to keep running, and we need your continued support to do so.
Our current challenge lies in compelling Klickitat County to engage in scientifically sound, community-based watershed planning that will sustain our resource-based economy and the natural world that graces this vibrant watershed. Our advocacy is specifically focused on the SEPA appeal of the Husum/BZ rezone–with our partners, Friends of the Columbia Gorge and Citizens for Common Sense on the White Salmon River–which calls Klickitat County to account for violating Washington State Environmental law.
By renewing and making a donation, you can help us succeed in this effort. Annual dues are only $25. If you wish to mail a check, a form is available on the FWSR website: http://friendsofthewhitesalmon.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/fwsrapplicationwithdate.pdf PayPal is also available at the website: http://friendsofthewhitesalmon.org Dues and donations are critical to our success and will go directly towards protecting the White Salmon River.
To celebrate and share ideas, please come to the FWSR Annual Members’ Meeting. We will have a short business meeting–electing board members, reviewing activities of this past year–and an update on the still pending rezone appeal, as well as discussion of options for our next steps. Remember, renew your membership now so you can vote at this meeting:
