Protect Shorelines

Protect Shorelines

Where the land at the water meets, shorelines along the White Salmon and Klickitat rivers are facing significant threats from development and extractive industries. Participate in our initiatives to advocate for shoreline protection regulations and ensure their enforcement. Your voice is critical.

Save Western Gray Squirrel

Save Western Gray Squirrel

Reduced to only three small isolated populations, these squirrels were recently designated as endangered by Washington State. They are a critical part of forest ecosystems and uniquely vulnerable in Klickitat County because of parcel fragmentation, timber harvest, and residential sprawl.  Immediate action is needed to keep them alive.

Restore Wild Salmon & Steelhead

Restore Wild Salmon & Steelhead

Wild salmon and steelhead are returning to the White Salmon River following the removal of Condit Dam. How many? Are they reproducing? Are they thriving? We don't know. But it's critical to find out. The White Salmon is one of the few rivers where hatchery fish were not introduced after a dam was removed—a true rarity.

Protect Pushpum

Protect Pushpum

Pumped storage is not the problem. The proposed location is. Goldendale Pumped Storage development will destroy an area known to Yakama Nation as “mother of all roots,”  a sacred site for Yakama Nation ceremonies, legends, and gathering of traditional roots and medicines.
