Protect Shorelines
Where the land at the water meets, shorelines along the White Salmon and Klickitat rivers are facing significant threats from development and extractive industries. Participate in our initiatives to advocate for shoreline protection regulations and ensure their enforcement. Your voice is critical.
Save Western Gray Squirrel
White Salmon River wildlife faces new challenges with each passing year due to the impacts of human changes to their environment. You can help!
Restore Wild Salmon & Steelhead
With the removal of Condit Dam in 2012, fish such as steelhead, Chinook salmon, coho salmon, and Pacific lamprey have access to habitat that was inaccessible for about 100 years. The Friends of the White Salmon River would like to see this natural colonization experiment continue for the foreseeable future.
Protect Pushpum
Construction of the lower reservoir, the generating station, and underground infrastructure will disturb an area known to the Yakama and other tribes as Pushpum – in English, Mother of All Roots. The area also has spiritual sites and was a trade center, so is of importance to other Columbia River tribes.
