Kristy Podruchny joined the Friends of the White Salmon River board in May 2026, bringing a deep commitment to watershed conservation, environmental advocacy, and a local perspective as a Skamania County resident. Her passion for the environment is rooted in a lifelong love for wild places and for the temperate rainforests of the Columbia River Gorge. Through years of hiking and foraging, she has developed an intimate connection to the land. Kristy is dedicated to addressing modern conservation challenges, from rewilding and wildfire resilience to the management of invasive species. Central to her vision for the future is acknowledging and honoring Native sovereignty, recognizing Indigenous peoples as the original and continuous caretakers of these lands and waters. She is honored to serve the community and advocate for the wild, enduring health of the White Salmon River and its surrounding ecosystems.
